Powerstat ® |
Variable Transformers , Various Model ratings: From 0.5KVA Up to 328KVA at 600VAC(Stacked) in most operating Voltages and configurations. |
Superior Electric |
Powerstat Variable Transformers for Voltage control of electrical circuits manually or motor driven in open or enclosed systems. |
Powerstat Variable Transformers are highly efficient and mostly utilise Powerkote coils ensuring that the windings remain in position even under severe overloading. Excellent regulation is achieved delivering the desired voltage with very little fluctuation from full load to no load. From their excellent design, negligible waveform distortion is noticed. Their precious metal plated commutator ensures a smooth operation performance with longer life and increased resistance to corrosion under harsh conditions. Negligible maintenance is needed , requiring only periodic inspection as a result of the special carbon utilised in construction. The glass-smooth contact surface ensures constant pressure of the brush-tap requiring very low torque. The accurate construction ensures a linear output voltage in relation to angle of rotation and can be adjusted to a fraction of a Volt. Their construct is designed for heavy duty and trouble free operation ensuring reliable performance over extended periods of time even under extreme conditions. These items can be offered to special order to meet applicable Military Specifications. Most Powerstat variable transformers, have a lower input tap that allows a lower input voltage of 120V to allow for a output voltage of up to 280V, having the output current capacity reduced accordingly. These specifications given are for operation under from –20 to +50 Deg C having a reduced output capacity for higher ambient temperatures. The units area available from as small as a maximum of 0.7 Amps in the Type 10C Series to very large currents in multi-stacked, ganged together and configuration for 3 phase requirements with motor driven control operation. They come in various arrangements of open type for panel and other mounting, methods or enclosed for stand alone operation. Wall mounting versions are also optional. Pricing varies depending on requirement. Please email you request with full description of requirement and application to : jsantos@instrumentsgroup.co.za . Additional information will soon be placed on this page for easier selection . |
