Notes on Alcohol Breath Testing with Intoximeters. Intoximeters have been at the forefront of alcohol testing equipment, and their FST range stand for Field Sobriety Test. The first products were made in 1945, and have been developed since then to the products that we offer today. Three ranges are offered i.e. Handheld Instruments, Portable handheld instruments and Desktop instruments. The Alco-Sensor® brand was registered as a trade name. These instruments are for either screening or for use in law enforcement, thus indicating the amount of alcohol in the person’s body. The Handheld instruments branded as the Alco-Sensor range has set a standard for law enforcement and in the workplace, whose products can be used for both screening as well as enforcing the law by gathering acceptable evidence for use in court. The portable instruments are well priced and have patented use of the rear facing screen to assist in protecting law enforcement officers, who can manage their subject while observing the surrounding environment. Some of these portable systems also support mobile printing. They are all battery operated, thus truly portable. The Desktop Instruments are the top of the range for evidential grade breath alcohol results. |
